Description
A coral with long, fleshy, flower-like polyps, each with 12 tentacles, that are usually extended by day and hide a light, porous skeleton. Colonies are rounded, encrusting or short-branched and grow mostly in sheltered water. It is told apart from related species only by close examination of the skeleton.
In the Maldives
Recorded from the Maldives: literature records via OBIS (IndOBIS). Only one kind of evidence was found, so it is listed as possibly present.
