Description
A massive, rounded coral with round to oval cups, each with its own wall, separated by shallow grooves. It was formerly placed in Favia. Colonies are often brown, green or cream, with contrasting cup centres. It is told apart from related species only by close examination of the skeleton.
In the Maldives
Recorded from the Maldives: literature records via OBIS (Hexacorallians of the World (Fautin 2013), IndOBIS). Only one kind of evidence was found, so it is listed as possibly present.
