Description
A lace coral (a hydrocoral, not a true stony coral) that forms small, stiff, flattened fans with blunt, rounded branches, usually red or orange. Its tiny pores run in rows along the edges of the branches. It lives in caves, under overhangs and in shaded parts of the reef. Like all lace corals it is listed on CITES Appendix II.
In the Maldives
Recorded from the Maldives: museum specimens (n=1). Only one kind of evidence was found, so it is listed as possibly present.
