Description
A slender, torpedo-shaped jack, olive-blue on the back with two narrow light-blue stripes separated by a yellow band, and a white belly. Small detached finlets sit behind the dorsal and anal fins. It schools near the surface in open water and around reef edges, feeding on small fish and crustaceans. It often gathers under floating logs and around sharks or other large fish.
In the Maldives
Caught by Maldivian pole-and-line and troll fishermen, often associated with tuna schools and drifting objects.
