Description

A tongue coral: a large, free-living mushroom coral with a long, tongue- or slipper-shaped skeleton, often 30 to 50 cm long, with a groove of mouths running along its length. It lies loose on reef slopes and in lagoons and is usually brown, green or cream. It is one of the easier mushroom corals to recognise.
