A finger Montipora that forms bushy clumps of thin, upright, finger-like branches with blunt tips. The surface is covered in tiny cups. Colonies are usually brown, cream, green or pinkish and grow in shallow lagoons and on reef flats, often in large patches.
In the Maldives
Recorded from the Maldives: iNaturalist research-grade observations in the Maldives (n=6). Only one kind of evidence was found, so it is listed as possibly present. Branching and table corals of this kind were among the worst hit by the 1998 and 2016 mass bleaching events in the Maldives.
